First, the shining forth of the glory of Christ eclipses the luster of all other
glory.
The glory that stands in competition with Christ, that of the world and the
flesh,
decreases and loses ground in the soul as the knowledge
and love of Christ increase and gain ground;
but it is here spoken of that which is subservient to him. As the light of the
morning increases,
the darkness decreases. Secondly, if our diminution or abasement may
but in
the least contribute to the advancement of Christ's name, we must cheerfully
submit to it,
and be content to be any thing, to be nothing, so that Christ may be all.
Up = down ministries places a great prominence on the word of God. In due
consideration,
we will teach the whole counsel of God’s word without compromise. We will
emphasize
in our teaching the practice of His word and the importance
of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
We will also give the youth occasions to demonstrate their faith through
teaching,
witnessing, and various mission opportunities.
As well, as a youth group we place vast emphasis on parental involvement.
We encourage the parents to be around.
We are here to help build bridges between them and
their children rather than taking the parent's place as spiritual leaders.
